Event Spotlight
Dutch Creek Winery, located in Athens, OH,
was established in 2014 by the husband and
wife team of Paul and Cindy Freedman.
The winery resides at Wild Pear Farm and
specializes in creating small-batch, artisanal
meads, ciders, and fruit wines.
Paul and Cindy purchased the land near
Amesville due to their love of nature and
desire to create and share a lasting legacy. The couple keeps bees and tends apple, peach and pear orchards, whose honey and fruit are used in making their products (Kight, 2016). Of note is their Royal Affair Earl Grey Honey Tea Wine, which won Bronze at the 2016 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition (Dutch Creek Winery, ca 2017).
