Southwest Ohio Wineries

Southwest Ohio boasts an incredible array of vineyards and wineries—from Olde Schoolhouse Vineyard and Winery, whose tasting rooms are situated in a 1890’s one-room schoolhouse, to Meier’s Wine Cellar, the oldest winery in Ohio (Ohio Wine Producers Association, 2016).

Of particular interest is Valley Vineyards, seen in the above video. Established in 1970, this family-owned winery received the Department of Agriculture’s 2017 Award for Best Red Wine in the state of Ohio (Ohio Department of Agriculture, 2017). With a 60 acre vineyard boasting more than thirty types of grapes, Valley Vineyards focuses on the quality of the grape and on processing grapes the same day as the harvest to ensure the highest caliber of wine (Our Ohio, 2012). Visit Valley Vineyards’ website here for more details.
